On November 5th María de Jesús Gálvez Vázquez (second from the right, first row) delivered an invited talk at the 8th symposium of the SCCER ‘Heat and Electricity Storage’.
Her presentation was entitled
CO2 Electroreduction on Ag Catalysts under Controlled Mass Transport Conditions.
On November 1st Ying Kong and Menglong Liu started their PhD projects on CO2 electroreduction in the Interfacial Electrochemistry Group.

New ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer) for highly accurate elemental analysis installed.
The instrument (NexION 2000, Perkin Elmer) is currently in the testing phase. Routine measurements will be carried out from November 2019 on.

Nano-(electro)chemistry day at the high-school Lerbermatt in Köniz (https://www.lerbermatt.ch/home/).
The Interfacial Electrochemistry group at the DCB supported this event by carrying out experiments related to the synthesis of nanoparticles, the electrodeposition of metal foams and the electrochemical screeening of plating additives used for the advanced metallization of interconnect features in integrated circuits.
On June 6, 40 high-school students and teachers from the ‘Freies Gymnasium Bern’ (fgb, http://www.fgb.ch/) visited the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (DCB). The particular focus of their lab tour was on the current CO2 research activities at the DCB.
On the 6th of May 2019 Changzhe Sun started his PhD project in the Interfacial Electrochemistry Group.
